Knicks Select Stoudemire, Felton As Co-Captains

GREENBURGH, N.Y. (AP) — Amare Stoudemire and Raymond Felton have been selected the New York Knicks' co-captains.

Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni announced he picked the newcomers for the honor the night before the team's workout Saturday that marked the official opening of training camp.

Stoudemire was the New York's biggest offseason addition, coming in a sign and trade deal with the Suns for a future second-round pick. Felton signed with the Knicks after averaging 12.1 points and 5.6 assists with Charlotte last season.

Stoudemire said he and Felton spoke to the team, which returns just five players from last season's 29-53 squad, about the importance of staying in shape and working out and saying that the Knicks are "now a team to beat."
