Report: Johnny Manziel Threatened To Kill Ex-Girlfriend, Himself

CLEVELAND (CBSNewYork/AP) -- The drama continues for Johnny Football as he reportedly threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend and himself.

Johnny Manziel's ex-girlfriend told police the Cleveland Browns quarterback hit her during an argument last weekend in Texas and said he appeared to be on drugs. Dallas police have said in a statement that Manziel will not be charged and that the investigation is closed.

WFAA-TV reported Manziel told Colleen Crowley to "shut up or I'll kill us both" and then hit her and dragged her by the hair.

Fort Worth police released a report Thursday that provided the first details of the altercation Saturday night between Manziel and Colleen Crowley. Manziel is being investigated for a possible assault on Crowley.

She told police he was "aggressive" toward her after they were out with friends at the Zaza Hotel in Dallas. She said he struck her, including once in the left ear before they drove back to her Fort Worth apartment.

Sources told WFAA that the two argued about another woman. Crowley reportedly told police he wouldn't let her leave the hotel room.

"I was crying and begged the valet, 'Please don't let him take me. I'm scared for my life!'" she reportedly told authorities, according to WFAA.

The two then reportedly got into a car and Manziel drove her about a half-mile to her car. She told police she jumped out of the car when they parked and hid in the bushes.

"He grabbed me by my hair and threw me back into the car and got back in himself," she told police, WFAA reports. "He hit me with his open hand on my left ear for jumping out of the car. I realized immediately that I could not hear out of that ear, and I still cannot today, two days later."

When driving back to her apartment, Crowley allegedly told police Manziel said "he was going to drop me off, take my car and go kill himself."

She told police that when they got back to her apartment, she pulled a knife out on Manziel because she was in fear for her life and he ran out of the apartment.

Crowley said she later fled her apartment in an attempt to get away from Manziel.

A police report obtained by CBS Cleveland revealed Crowley "became increasingly uncooperative, stating that she did not want to answer any more questions, did not want to fill out a statement or make a report, and did not want officers to photograph her or any of her injuries."

Manziel told TMZ Sports that the incident "didn't happen.

"I'm completely stable," the Browns quarterback said. "I'm safe and secure."

The Browns released a statement Tuesday saying they were troubled by Manziel's "continual involvement in incidents." The team plans to release him in March.

ESPN and Cleveland.com report Dallas police will not charge Manziel and that their investigation is closed.

"The Dallas Police Department has conducted the appropriate investigative follow-up to the report forwarded to us by the Ft. Worth Police Department regarding an alleged incident involving Johnny Manziel. Investigative efforts to date have not resulted in the filing of a criminal complaint and the incident is determined to be closed. No further statement is expected at this time," Dallas police told ESPN in a statement.

Earlier this year, Manziel spent 10 weeks at a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center.
