Helping Struggling Families Is Easy In CT
HARTFORD, CT (WCBS 880) - Certain struggling families in Connecticut might not be eligible for state assistance in meeting their heating bills.

These are the families falling through the cracks and it is for them that Operation Fuel is working to raise money.
Pat Wrice, who heads the group, says a family of four with an upper limit of $45,000 income is eligible to apply if facing a crisis.
"The crisis could be that they recently lost their job or their unemployment benefits have ran out and they just have no wherewithal to get energy assistance," says Wrice.

An easy way to help out, says Wrice, is to simply check off the 'add a dollar' box that appears on your monthly utility bill.
