Greenport Getting Ready To Host Tall Ships Fleet Memorial Day Weekend
GREENPORT, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- The tiny Long Island town of Greenport is getting ready for one of its biggest events of the year.

Nearly 50,000 people are expected Memorial Day weekend for the Greenport Tall Ships Challenge 2012.
"To have the opportunity for a village this size to have that many people come through, is astounding," Mayor David Nyce told WCBS 880's Mike Xirinachs.
But officials see the huge crowds as an opportunity too good to pass up.
"We're trying to get people to re-locate their businesses here, re-locate their families here, so this is an opportunity to show that as well," Nyce said.
The Tall Ships fleet will be in Greenport from May 26 to May 28.
