Gov. Cuomo, Mayor Bloomberg Prepare To Face-Off In Canoe Race

NEW YORK(AP) -- Gov. Andrew Cuomo and other elected officials from around the state are in the Adirondack town of Indian Lake to compete in whitewater races on the Indian River.

The event Sunday afternoon is part of the Adirondack Challenge, Cuomo's effort to promote tourism in the region. Cuomo's team includes the governor, his daughters Cara and Michaela, his secretary Larry Schwartz, and Deputy Secretary for Civil Rights Alphonso David.

Other teams represent the tourism industry, the state Senate, various counties and state agencies.

On Monday, Cuomo will square off in a canoe race against New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
