Giants Fans Revel In Big Blue's Super Bowl Victory; Victory Parade Coming Tuesday

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Giants fans poured out on the streets of Times Square Sunday in celebration of the team's thrilling Super Bowl XLVI victory over Tom Brady and New England.

The moment the Giants won, it was 'go time' for the workers at Modell's Sporting Goods on 42nd Street, pulling out the tables and ripping open boxes packed with Big Blue victory gear.

"Anything Giants I'm on it. I want it. This is amazing, best time ever. Words cannot explain. I'm so excited, so happy I can't even talk now. I'm just buying everything here. I can't wait Giants, we got this," said Joselin Salazar of Midtown.

"Euphoria, we printed over 320,000 units knowing the Giants would win. Had they lost, forget about it, so it's just incredible," said Mitchell Modell, Modell's owner.

Fans who watched the big game on the store's big screen repeatedly erupted with joy during the fourth quarter. Then came happy pandemonium to see their Giants go all the way.

"You see it here, you're in New York, crazy Giants," said Jessica Flores of Jersey City.

Khadisha Alie, of Crown Heights, said she had "faith" in her team as she demonstrated some salsa moves perfected by Giants WR Victor Cruz.

Now, the Giants fans grow prouder while many New York merchants, including the owner of Modell's, grow richer.

The demand for championship merchandise will be at a fever pitch in the days to come.

As for the G-Men themselves, Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced Sunday that New York City will host a ticker-tape parade in honor of the champions on Tuesday, February 7,

The parade will begin at Battery Place and Washington Street at 11:00 a.m. and continue northbound up the Canyon of Heroes to Worth Street.

The parade will be followed by a ceremony at City Hall Plaza, at which the mayor will present the Giants with Keys to the City.

"Big Blue gave us a game to remember, and on Tuesday we're going to give them a parade to remember," Bloomberg said.
