Giants Confirm Geoff Schwartz Has Dislocated Right Toe; Guard Out Indefinitely

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — It could have been a lot worse, but it still isn't good.

New York Giants left guard Geoff Schwartz has a dislocated right big toe and will be in a walking boot for a week to 10 days.

The Giants announced on Tuesday that Schwartz was examined by Dr. Robert Anderson in Charlotte, North Carolina, and that he will be evaluated weekly. The team did not indicate how long he will be sidelined.

Schwartz, who signed a four-year, $16.8 million contract in the offseason, will begin rehabilitation after he gets out of the boot. He was hurt in Friday's game against the Jets.

"This is just a minor setback," Schwartz said. "I plan on attacking the rehab program so I can get back on the field as soon as possible with my teammates and help us win games."
