Bronx Woman Killed In Crash With 2 Young Children In Car

NEW YORK (CBSNewYorkAP) -- Police say a woman has been killed and two young children were injured in a car collision in the Bronx.

Police say Sunday the fatal accident occurred Saturday night in the borough's Woodlawn Heights neighborhood.

They say 58-year-old Elizabeth Wimmer of the Bronx was killed and two children ages 5 and 10 were taken to Jacobi Hospital in stable condition.

Investigators believe the collision occurred after a 2009 Honda CRV crossed a double yellow line into oncoming traffic, striking Wimmer's sedan.

Police say the driver of the Honda CRV was injured and is in stable condition at Jacobi Hospital

There have been no arrests. Detectives with the collision investigation squad are investigating the accident.
