Fan Poll Indicates That Tim Tebow Will Score More Touchdowns Than Holmes, Greene

NEW YORK (WFAN) - Who will be the leader of the Jets' offense this upcoming season?

It seems like a fairly straightforward question, and common sense says that starting quarterback (for now) Mark Sanchez will be involved in the most scores for Gang Green.

But a recent fan poll administered by NFL.com gave an interesting glimpse into the mind of a Jets fan, and NFL fans in general for that matter.

The poll asked who of the following players would score the most touchdowns for New York in 2012-13: Quarterback Tim Tebow, wide receiver Santonio Holmes and running back Shonn Greene.

Sanchez, for whatever reason, was not an available choice in the poll.

So how did the vote come out?

In an astonishing result, Tebow (virtually a bench player at the moment), received 38 percent of the vote. Holmes came in second with 34 percent and Greene finished with just 28 percent.

So how do fans believe that a bench player will score more touchdowns than a star wide receiver and a starting running back?

It looks like more fans than previously thought believe that Tebow will supplant Sanchez as the starter sooner than later. Or maybe fans just love Tebow so much that they have convinced themselves that he'll be a megastar in East Rutherford.

Whatever the case may be, if reports out of the team's OTAs are any indicator, it doesn't appear that Sanchez will be sitting on the bench at MetLife Stadium any time soon.

Who do you think will score the most touchdowns for the Jets this season? Sound off with your thoughts and comments below...
