5 Things You Didn't Know About Donald Trump's Son, Eric

Donald Trump's third child, Eric, will be speaking tonight at the Republican National Convention. Eric has been actively participating in his father's presidential campaign, although he is rather new to the world of politics.

Viewers can expect his speech to be "full of love and full of emotion," he told "Good Morning America." Eric also stated "zero" when asked if any speechwriters had helped him write his address. "I wrote every single word of my speech myself."

Below are some fun facts about Eric Trump.

He has a net worth of $150 million

Eric Trump is the current executive vice president, development and acquisitions, of the Trump Organization. He has the same net worth as his older brother and mentor Donald Trump Jr., according to Celebrity Net Worth.

He was only 6 years old when his parents, Donald and Ivana, divorced.

Eric told New York Magazine he recalled his friends coming up to him with newspaper clippings regarding the divorce. Trump's first wife, Ivana, gained full custody of the three children and raised them until college. Afterwards, she "gave them" back to Donald who provided them jobs in the Trump Organization, according to the Daily Front Row.

He went to boarding school

In order to shield Donald's first three children from the media, they were all sent to boarding schools. Eric was sent to Hill School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. He then attended Georgetown University and received degrees in finance and management.

He founded the Eric Trump Foundation

When Eric was 23 years old he founded the Eric Trump Foundation with a mission "to advance the medical and emotional needs of terminally-ill children and demand that our monetary donations are transformed into real results at St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital." As a philanthropist, Eric has raised upwards of $30 million to the Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital in California.

Eric's wife, Lara Trump, is a producer for CBS

After dating for six years, Eric proposed to his wife in Bedford, New York at the Trump Seven Springs Estate. They married a year later in 2014 at the Mar-o-lago Club in Palm Beach, Florida. The two do not have any children but have a dog named Charlie.

Lara is an associate producer for CBS' Inside Edition. She is also a nutrition and fitness enthusiast, often participating in marathons and other physical activities.

He runs Trump Organization's Golf Assets

Eric has grown Trump's golf courses from three to 17 since 2013. He was able to work closely with Donald on Trump's recent $50 million renovation to their course in Doonbeg. Eric was at the course when Donald called him to ask how it was progressing.

He told Irish Times, "He was asking: 'How is [hole] four looking? How is six? How is eighteen.'"
