Dutch Embassy Workers Arrested In NYC Bar Fight
NEW YORK (AP) -- Prosecutors said three Dutch embassy workers and a cohort brawled with police officers after being accused of dodging their bill at a New York City jazz bar. Authorities said four officers were hurt.
The embassy workers -- a man and two women -- were arrested on various charges after the fracas early Sunday at Arthur's Tavern in Manhattan. Prosecutors said one officer broke a finger.
An embassy spokesman said Rob van der Hoek, Lenneke Veeninga and Roos Kouwenhoven aren't diplomats, but rather embassy workers hired in the U.S.
They and Kristopher Rendon have been released.
Rendon and van der Hoek told reporters Monday the group was willing to pay, but the bar wouldn't accept credit cards. They said a waitress started the fight.
