Dog Found Abandoned In Women's Bathroom At Fahnestock State Park

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Who would abandon a pooch like this?

That's what the Putnam County SPCA wants to know.

The 3-4 year old white terrier was found at the Fahnestock State Park in a women's bathroom Saturday.

The pooch was found inside a crate. Officials said the dog was "found to be in a severe state of neglect," underweight, with both of its ears infected and fur heavily matted.

Animal cruelty and abandonment of an animal both carry a sentence of up to one year in jail or a $1,000 fine.
