Report: Rapper DMX Hospitalized Following Drug Overdose

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Rapper DMX is hospitalized after a reported drug overdose.

The 50-year-old was rushed to a hospital in White Plains on Friday night.

Murray Richman, DMX's longtime attorney, told CBS2 he suffered a heart attack.

TMZ reported that was caused by the overdose and that he is in grave condition.

The rapper, whose real name is Earl Simmons, grew up in Yonkers.

DMX has been open about his struggle with addiction over the years, and has been in rehab several times.
