CT Gov-Elect Malloy Appoints McDonald As Counsel
HARTFORD, CT (WCBS 880) - For his chief legal counsel, Connecticut Governor-Elect Dan Malloy has chosen Stamford lawyer Andrew McDonald.

He is being hailed as a superb choice by those who know McDonald - a man with a great legal mind.
Malloy calls him very accomplished.
"Connecticut moved in a very progressive fashion to civil unions under his leadership to marriage equality," Malloy told WCBS 880 Connecticut Bureau Chief Fran Schneidau. "He has been the chair of the judiciary committee for a number of years."
In November, McDonald won a fifth term to the State Senate and now, with this appointment, lawmakers will decide who co-chairs the judiciary committee as Andrew McDonald heads to the executive branch.
