Caught On Video: Man Hurls Incendiary Device At Masonic Hall In Chelsea
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - The terrifying moments in which a Molotov cocktail was thrown into the front entrance of a Manhattan Masonic lodge building were captured on camera.
Police are looking for the man who they say is responsible.
It happened at the front entrance of the Masonic Hall in Chelsea.
Surveillance video shows an object that looks like a Molotov cocktail engulfed in flames flying into the entrance of the lodge.
It happened on Oct. 8 at around 11:45 p.m. at 46 West 24th Street.
"I think it's awful. It's nonsensical," said Johnny Toston, who works nearby.
"It's just very scary and dangerous. I live over here so to hear that people are doing that just makes me very uncomfortable," said Chelsea resident Mary Henry. "The fact that they still can't find him, just... you know, we're around here all the time. To think that he could do that again is just not really settling."
"I hope they find him and put him in jail," another Chelsea resident said.
Moments after the object went up in flames, the fire was put out, police said. No one was hurt.
