Car Slams Into Trader Joe's In Oceanside; 15 Injured
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A car slammed into a Trader Joe's on Long Island on Friday afternoon, injuring 15 people.
An older woman lost control of her car, which plowed right through the front window and into the checkout area of the store, Oceanside Fire Chief Kevin Klein said.
As 1010 WINS' Mona Rivera reported, the car crashed into a crowd of customers and workers. Cash registers were toppled in the accident, WCBS 880's Sophia Hall reported.

Of the injured, 12 were taken to the hospital for mostly cuts, bruises and possible broken bones, CBS 2's Carolyn Gusoff reported.
At least one of the 15 people was seriously injured. None of the injuries are considered life threatening, authorities said.

One man was pinned between the car and the wall of the store and was listed in serious condition, Klein said.
A Nassau County police spokeswoman said the accident happened on Long Beach Road shortly after 1 p.m.
"I saw a car just bang in, in front of the store and then saw people screaming, people on the floor," a witness told Rivera.
"The store was crowded and for her to go that far into the store with that many people, absolutely we could have had fatalities here," Klein said. "This is probably one of the luckiest that I've ever seen in 21 years, especially with the amount of people shopping for the holidays."
Trader Joe's said it is working with police as the investigation into how the accident happened continues.
"At this time our primary concern is the health and well-being of our crew members, customers and anyone else that may have been injured. We are working with local authorities in this investigation, but presently we do not have details or additional information," said Alison Mochizuki, director of public relations.
Police said the incident appears to be an accident. No charges are expected to be filed, Gusoff reported.
