With Brooklyn Boy On Life Support, 'Operation Care' Aims To Increase Awareness About Child Abuse
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- With 3-year-old Jaden Jordan still on life support, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams unveiled a new educational campaign Friday.
"It is not merely ACS' responsibility, it is every citizen's responsibility to protect a child," he said.
Adams was joined by experts and family support groups as he announced "Operation Care."
They plan to bring the campaign to houses of worship, senior citizen centers, community meetings and more to explain how to spot signs of abuse or neglect and how to safely report them, 1010 WINS' Juliet Papa reported.
Rosemary Perkins, whose 6-year-old nephew Zymere Perkins died in an allegedly abusive home, was there to offer her support.
"Follow it up, do footwork, reach out," she said.
