5 Officers Hurt After 2 NYPD Cruisers Collide In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- One cruiser was left mangled and another overturned after two police cars collided in Brooklyn early Wednesday morning.

Officers were involved in a foot chase in Brownsville when two patrol cars responding to that chase smashed into each other at the corner of Sutter Avenue and Thomas Boyland Street, the NYPD said.

The flipped patrol car was turned back over by the time cameras arrived, CBS2 reported.

Five officers suffered minor injuries.

The suspect was eventually arrested.
