Bronx Non-Profit Gives Old Computers To Families
BRONX, N.Y. (WCBS 880) – Getting a computer not only brought Alander Fox's family into the 20th century, it changed their lives.
"Cause you know how it is when you don't have a computer, you have to go to the library, you have to get on the list and you have a little bit of time," Fox said.

But thanks to Bronx non-profit Per Scholas, the Fox family got a recycled computer for Christmas for free.
"Technology is not a nice thing to make sure everybody has, it's the right thing," said Per Scholas President Plinio Ayala.
Ayala said individuals and corporations donate the computers for them to give away and if you get a new computer this holiday season, don't throw away your old one—donate it.
"Our economy and the way we learn and function has technology written all over it," Ayala said.
It's also written all over academics. Fox's daughter uses one in middle school and now can use one at home.
"It has enhanced the quality of our life," Fox said.
