Bronx Man Arrested For Allegedly Pointing Laser At Planes At LaGuardia Airport

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- New York City police have arrested a man accused of pointing a laser at two aircraft landing or taking off at LaGuardia Airport.

It happened Monday night.

Police say the suspect, 36-year-old Frank Egan, was tracked down to an apartment in the Bronx.

They say they found the device labeled "Laser 303" on a refrigerator of the apartment.

Police say Egan admitted he owned the laser and used it that evening.

They say two police officers operating a helicopter assigned to the Aviation Unit sustained injuries to their eyes. They were treated at a hospital.

The pilot of an Air Canada flight also suffered injuries. He was taken to a hospital in Toronto.

Egan was charged with assault on a police officer, reckless endangerment and other charges.
