Police Continue Search For Suspect Attacking Elderly Women In Bronx

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork)-- Police want to get the man who's robbing and assaulting elderly women in the Belmont section of the Bronx.

Councilman Ritchie Torres (D-15th) said a 90-year-old woman found the man in her living room, 1010 WINS' Juliet Papa reported. 

"He yanked from her neck a chain containing a crucifix and a wedding ring from 50 years of marriage," he said.

In another case, he threw an 82-year-old woman to the ground, kicked her, and grabbed her chains along with $40.

His photo was plastered all over a local senior center.

"We are very nervous. Believe me," one elderly woman said.

Another woman said she hides her chains while she's outside and tries to walk with a friend.
