Wednesday's radio program began on a somber note as Boomer and Craig discussed the death of Yankees legend Yogi Berra.

The baseball icon passed away overnight at the age of 90.

As for the action on the field, after blowing a lead in the ninth inning the Yanks won themselves an extra-inning thriller in Toronto, 6-4, thanks in large part to a three-run homer off the bat of youngster Greg Bird.  The win puts the Bombers just 2 1/2 games behind the first-place Blue Jays in the AL East, with the finale of the season series between the two set for Wednesday night.

The Mets fell 6-2 to the Braves and have now lost five of their last seven. However, the big picture shows things aren't so bad for the Amazin's as their magic number for clinching the NL East fell to 6 with Washington's loss. Craig did find it interesting that Yoenis Cespedes was booed during the defeat.

All of that, plus the Giants send a message by cutting Preston Parker, but appear to forget to tell Eli Manning.
