Boomer & Carton At Giants Camp: Eli, Cruz, Coughlin & More

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (WFAN) — Forget A-Rod, it's almost football season!

WFAN co-hosts Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton took their show on the road Tuesday, broadcasting live from 6-10 a.m. at Giants training camp in East Rutherford.

The guys chatted up quarterback Eli Manning, coach Tom Coughlin and more as Big Blue gets ready for the upcoming season.

Check out all the audio below:

Steve Weatherford

On HGH testing: "I think it's the direction that our league needs to go, because I don't think it's a rampant problem, but like I said, I don't really know. I don't think it's as bad as it is in baseball, but at the same time, you see the black eye that A-Rod's given the league. And it's not just A-Rod. Everybody is singling him out. Not that I feel bad for him, but I do kind of feel a little bad for him."

Hakeem Nicks

On his groin injury: "I'm as healthy as I can be right now. I'm gonna get back out there today and go out there and just practice. ... I'm 100 percent, man. I'm good to go."

Eli Manning

On the Giants' passing attack: "Teams will try to double-team guys who get the ball. So they'll try to double Victor (Cruz), they'll try to double Hakeem (Nicks) and someone's gonna be one-on-one. That's just the way it is. And when you have three receivers who you're totally confident in that they're gonna win those one-on-one matches ... it's exciting to see it all come around."

Tom Coughlin

On his thoughts during HOF weekend: "Our game is the greatest game ever created, OK? It takes 11 (players) and it takes 53 and it takes a whole organization of people. It's not any one guy. And every man that stood there, blessed with individual God-given talents, acknowledging that, also acknowledges in great detail all those who have contributed to his success along the way. That is a very humbling experience."

On improvements on 'D': "That's our goal, that's our objective. I think that we will be better and we've demonstrated that here on the field. ... I like what I see and I like the makeup of our group. And I know there's tremendous pride there. I know that part of it."

Tuck & Cruz

Tuck on stepping up as a defensive unit: "That's the plan. But like I said, we can't allow ourselves to think about all the negative things that happened last year. We did some good things last year."

Cruz on his new contract: "I'm in a good place. I feel good; all that negativity is behind me now. I'm looking forward to the future and what this team holds, and how I can benefit this team for the next six years."

Antrel Rolle

On the Giants' biggest problem last season: "We were very inconsistent. There were times where we would go out there and we would play like a Super Bowl-caliber team. There was times we would go out there and play like a 4-12 team, which is something that's very unacceptable in this league and is very unacceptable for this organization, because we know our talent level. And if we could go out there and do it in Week 2, why can't we go out there and do it in Week 11?"

Jerry Reese

On Jason Pierre-Paul: "JP's on schedule. He's looking good, he's running around a little bit. He's going to be out on the field a little more than usual as we move along. We expect him to hopefully be back, ready to go for the (Week 1) Dallas game."
