Mini Max Toys and Cuts hosts free events most days of the week. The best bet is Storytime every Tuesday at 10 a.m., because afterwards you can walk across the street to The Moxie Spot Restaurant and Playspace for a Sing-a-long with Lloyd Miller of the Deedle Deedle Dees at 11 a.m.

A haven for nature lovers, the center features boat rentals and the Songbird Cafe, with treats and snacks to grab on the go. Along with interactive exhibits, the highlight of the Audubon center are the hiking trails.

Floyd Bennett Field

Start at Floyd Bennett Field for a bit of bird-watching. Then walk  on The Rockaway Gateway Greenway, a multi-use pathway adjacent to FB Field which offers a unique view of the park. You can also head over to Aviator Sports & Recreation to try ice skating, hockey, basketball, soccer, rock climbing or other fun sports.

Take a quick walk outdoors to see the Public Art Fund's fun artwork on the Commons, especially the new group exhibition TOTAL RECALL. This exhibit features five new large-scale sculptures commissioned by New York-based artists and is based on the 1990 film of the same name.
