The most obvious and popular, family-friendly way to celebrate St. Patrick's day is the parade. The St. Patrick's Day Parade has been marching the New York streets since 1762. The parade takes place along Fifth Avenue between 44th and 79th Street and typically lasts until 5 p.m.
