Bear Mountain Inn Reopens Friday
BEAR MOUNTAIN, NY (WCBS 880) - Gone from a New York mountain retreat are the hideous decor additions of the 1970s, the mirrored walls and turquoise formica.

After being closed for nearly seven years, the Bear Mountain Inn has been restored to its original rustic splendor of stone and wood beams.
"People call every week 'Is the inn opening again? When is it going to open?' and there are always people who will come here and will come to the front door and say 'I was here 35 years ago' or 'it's where I had my first date with my wife' or 'we got married' or whatever. It's sort of endless numbers of stories like that, that people want to come back and see the old place back," said Palisades Interstate Park Commission executive director Jim Hall.
The refurbished inn opens Friday night with larger guest rooms, a spa, gym, restaurant and geothermal heating and cooling.
