B&C Show Blog & Audio: Gang Green Stinker

Bobby Dwyer

J-E-T-S… Gang Green opened up their 2010 season last night in the brand new Meadowlands and took one on the chin, as they fell to the Baltimore Ravens by a score of 10-9.  The outcome has Jets fans, Craigie included, already looking for the 'panic' button.  It was a lackluster game all around, the Jets were hampered by 14 penalties (125 yards) and their 'Sanchize' quarterback managed just 74 yards on 10-21 passing.  There was plenty of blame to go around, so Boomer and Craig opened up the Big Program talking about the disappointing performance by the J-E-T-S.  In baseball news, for those of you keeping track at home, the Yankees are now 1-4 since Craig opened up the doors to the Mets Fans for Yankees 'Church' and Boomer places the blame squarely on his radio partner.  Speaking of which, Craigie is not just Boomer's radio partner anymore, because beginning today the Boomer & Carton Morning Show will now be simulcast each morning on the MSG Network in addition to being aired right here on WFAN…Come Get Some…

Plus, Boomer sends a message to Rex Ryan and Jerry sends a message to the listeners, the 'free-fallin' Yankees and Lupus' 'hot-spot', Craig gets his due, Don Maynard took his Hall of Fame credentials all the way from Texas to join B&C in-studio, Jerry's Moment of the Day, Eli Manning calls in and an 'Attention Grabber' that, despite what Craig thinks, is certainly worthy of the honor…

Boomer and Craig were in agreement that the Jets need to head back to the drawing board regarding their offensive game plan. Boomer said that they need to take the training wheels off and let Sanchez throw the ball. Then Jerry got busy updating us on everything of importance going on in the tri-state area…

Boomer gets a twinkle in his eye every time he mentions to Craig how the Yankees have gone into a tail spin since he opened up the doors to his controversial 'Church' (Mets Fans for Yankees). The twinkle returned this morning just after 7:30 when the guys were discussing the Yankees falling out of first place last night, Craig didn't seem too concerned. Bomber's Manager Joe Girardi on the other hand was a little edgy when talking with Kim Jones following last night's loss. From there we learned about the special place Lupus/Rocco likes to bring his lady friends for 'sexy time', he still lives at home mind you, so for his sake I hope his parents don't read this…

Craig was gloating this morning after he received his 'Pulse of the People' awards in the mail, all three of them.  If you have never heard of the award, not to worry, you're not alone.  Craig fills us in on the voting process and how exactly he has managed to capture three of these elusive awards in a row…(Below you can see Cragie proudly displaying his coveted awards)

Don Maynard is a very accomplished professional football player, playing for both the NFL Giants in 1958 and the Titans/Jets in the A.F.L. from 1960-72.  In fact Maynard is one of only 20 players to play in the AFL for its entire 10-year existence (all with the Titans/Jets).  He was a member of the 1968 Jets team that shocked the word by winning Super Bowl III and was inducted into the Pro-Football Hall of Fame in 1987.  Today Maynard joined Boomer & Craig in-studio to talk about his storied career and what it was like being tagged an 'NFL Reject' by the press after being cut by the Giants and signing with the Titans of the AFL.  He also commented on the changes the game has gone through since he hung up his Hall of Fame spikes…

A surprise guest at the end of today's action packed show, as Giants quarterback Eli Manning joined the fray.  He chatted with the guys about the big gash he suffered on his head during the preseason, what it's like being Peyton Manning's little brother and of course the outlook for his Big Blue team for the 2010 season, which got started with a 31-18 win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday afternoon.  He also took a shot at Boomer and his beloved Cincinnati Bengals (Who Dey!!!)…
