B&C Morning Show: Jerry's Monday Morning Update
First the guys offered a well-deserved congratulations to Par-Troy East, which is a Little League team from Parsippany that advanced to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa., over the weekend, after a thrilling 1-0 win in the Mid-Atlantic Regional championship at Breen Field in Bristol.
After Jerry Recco provided an update, which included details of a Yankees comeback that fell short, as the Bombers lost to the Blue Jays 10-7, thanks in part to a great catch courtesy of Raji Davis in the seventh inning - which we heard described by the one and only John Sterling. The Yankees now hold a five-game lead in the AL East over the second place Tampa Bay Rays and have placed CC Sabathia on the DL with soreness in his left elbow.
Plus, the Mets hung on for a 6-5 win over the Braves, Team USA takes the gold with a 107-100 win over Spain, as the Summer Olympics come to a conclusion in London, Rex Ryan and Tony Sparano don't sound like they're on the same page and Rory McIlroy wins the PGA Championship...
