Jerry Recco began his update with a radio highlight from yet another win over the Yankees. Ike Davis contributed to the Mets' 5-0 1st inning by going the other way, and when the game ended, the score was 9-4 in favor of the somewhat Amazin' Mets.
Afterwards in the Mets locker room there was plenty of celebration to go around, while winning pitcher Jeremy Hefner (1-5) sounded like he was on the verge of tears. As for the Yanks, reinforcements are on the way in the form of Mark Teixeira and Kevin Youkilis, while Derek Jeter participated in a pregame long toss.
