Apple Store May Come To Grand Central Terminal

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Tech giant Apple Inc. is looking to set up shop deep in the heart of the Big Apple.

The company behind the iPhone, iPad and Macintosh computers already has four Apple stores throughout Manhattan.

This time, though, they are reportedly looking to take 15,000 square feet of space in Grand Central Terminal.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the space would occupy adjacent balconies on the north and east sides of the terminal. That space is currently occupied by Metrazur restaurant, which is planning on closing. The new tenant would have to buy the lease from Metrazur - a big payday.

Bids for the space were expected Monday. There's no official word yet on whether Apple has put in a firm offer.
