Angry Jets Fans To Hand Out 'Penalty Flags' For Final Home Game

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The angry Jets fans behind the "Fire John Idzik" billboards are planning to make a statement at the Jets' final home game of the season on December 21.

How will they make their big splash, you ask?

By throwing penalty flags on the organization, so to speak.

FireJohnIdzik.com has announced that Dec. 21 will be "Penalty Flag Day."

Towels protesting Jets management will be handed out prior to the game against the Patriots at MetLife Stadium. The towels take aim at general manager John Idzik and owner Woody Johnson, and also take on team president Neil Glat and senior director of college scouting Terry Bradway.

The group will announce locations of certain sports bars in the Tri-State Area next week, and fans will show their tickets for the game at those bars. Upon showing the ticket, a fan will receive five free towels. 10,000 towels will be given out for free, but they are also being sold on FireJohnIdzik.com.

"If Steeler fans can wave their 'Terrible Towels' in our building, then Jets fans surely have their right to wave our 'Penalty Flags,'" FireJohnIdzik.com said, according to the New York Daily News.

The Jets are 2-10 and will miss the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season.
