Accident Closes Westbound Gowanus Expressway In Brooklyn
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A major accident shut down the westbound Gowanus Expressway in southern Brooklyn Tuesday evening.
As CBS 2's Joe Biermann reported, the westbound side of the expressway was closed at Sixth Avenue in Brooklyn.
A car slammed into a movable barrier in the expressway median, Biermann reported. Further details of the crash, and information about injuries, were not immediately available.
Bumper-to-bumper delays were reported on the Gowanus all the way to the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway and the Brooklyn Bridge.
