AC Voter Fraud Trial Resumes Friday With New Juror

MAYS LANDING, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Jury deliberations in the Atlantic City vote fraud trial will resume without one juror whose meltdown got her bounced from the panel.

Judge Raymond Batten dismissed a juror Thursday afternoon after learning she'd called a friend on the Pleasantville Police Department to vent about how jury deliberations were going. She said she was so distraught she was ready to break her own arm to get off the five-month-long case.

She cited a long list of personal problems and said disagreements with her fellow jurors "turned personal" on Wednesday, which greatly upset her.

The woman risks prosecution for violating a court order barring jurors from discussing the case with outsiders.

Atlantic City Councilman Marty Small and others are charged with trying to steal the 2009 Democratic mayoral primary.
