9/9 CBS2 Wednesday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Justin Lewis
CBS2 Meteorologist

The heat's on for one more day as temps are expected to rise to around 90°. And should we meet the mark, we will observe our third (and final?) heat wave of the year! Keep in mind, though, that because of the humidity -- which will be rather high today -- it will feel like the 90s anyway. Enjoy it while it lasts, summer lovers!

We'll see a better chance of a shower/storm late today into tonight, though the focus of activity will still be inland. It's really tomorrow into tomorrow night when we'll see more widespread rains around the area. This is good news for folks who need it, but there's also concerns about runoff which could lead to flooding.

Things will quiet down on Friday in the wake of our front... perhaps some leftover showers to the east in the morning, then decreasing clouds through the day and less humid conditions.

Check back for more on the rest of your week!
