9/6 CBS2 Tuesday Morning Weather Headlines

By Matt DeLucia
CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good morning, folks! Hope everyone had a nice Labor Day weekend. It turned out to be much better than originally thought thanks to Hermine fortunately moving farther east than originally expected. Nonetheless, the storm is STILL off our coast.

Indirect effects will continue for the coastal areas in the form of rough surf, beach erosion, and rip currents. Some minor coastal flooding is possible during times of high tide, as well as some scattered showers for shore points and Long Island.

The storm jogs back to the north later today and eventually to the northeast by Wednesday, but the threat of minor coastal flooding continues during those high tides. Finally by Thursday, Hermine pulls away and we're left with a hot and humid end to the week.

Yesterday may be considered the unofficial end of summer, but it's still in full swing as the 90s return to the Tri-State! Stay tuned for more.
