9/29 CBS2 Tuesday Afternoon Weather Headlines

There will be plenty of clouds out there today with some spotty showers moving through from time to time. We could even have a rumble or two of thunder. With temps topping out in the upper 70s to around 80, it'll certainly have a summer feel out there this afternoon. Humidity levels are also on the high side.
Enjoy the warmth though, because a big pattern change is coming over the next day. A cold front moves closer this evening, and the main rain moves in late tonight. It'll be heavy at times during the early morning hours and into tomorrow morning's commute. Flooding concerns are minimal since we desperately need the rain, but watch out for poor drainage flooding, especially in low lying areas.
The rain clears out by Wednesday afternoon, with lingering showers as the front stalls off the coast. Temps will struggle to get out of the low 60s by Thursday! We're watching Tropical Storm Joaquin that may affect us just in time for the weekend with more rain and wind, but still too early for a full picture.
Check back in soon for more on the wet weather!
