7/31 CBS2 Sunday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Matt DeLucia
CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good afternoon, and for many a very soggy one! It's another unsettled day out there with rounds of showers and storms moving across the region. Much like yesterday, they'll be very slow moving, dropping heavy rain on the same locations. Some spots in Mercer and Middlesex Counties saw 5-6" of rain yesterday! We've already had many flash flood warnings issued today in NJ, and the city is under a flash flood watch until this evening.

Not everyone will see these heavy cells, but if you do be careful of any flooding and remember NEVER to try and drive through flood waters. With the clouds, temps will struggle to get much above 80, but the humidity is making it feel oppressive out there.

Tomorrow doesn't look as active as what we've seen this weekend, but we'll still be on the lookout for scattered showers and storms. Temps once again in the low 80s for most.

Tuesday will see some late clearing, and by Wednesday sunshine returns in full! For now, its a good day for movies! Stay safe if you're in a flood prone area today.
