6/20 CBS2 Saturday Afternoon Weather Headlines
By Matt DeLucia, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer
Good Afternoon!
Not the best weekend weather wise, but not a total washout either. Clouds will continue to dominate this afternoon with some scattered showers moving through associated with a stationary front. Temps won't climb much higher than the low 70s for most with a sticky feel out there.
The main rain moves in overnight, mostly after the midnight hour. The heaviest still looks to be during the early morning hours tomorrow. We'll pick up between 1-2" with some localized 3" spots. Can't rule out a few rumbles of thunder, especially around sunrise. Since this is the remnants of a tropical system, there's no shortage of moisture. Localized flooding is certainly possible in places that pick up a good soaking in a short amount of time.
The good news is it still looks like we'll see some clearing tomorrow afternoon for Father's Day! Summer officially arrives tomorrow at 12:39 PM, making it the longest day of the year daylight wise. However, as a weak front moves through tomorrow night, a some scattered showers and storms are possible once again.
Clears out for Monday and it's a steamy start to the work week. Highs in the upper 80s to around 90 with plenty of sunshine. Next storm chance would then be on Tuesday.
Check back soon for the latest!
