4/5 CBS2 Tuesday Afternoon Weather Headlines

Justin Lewis
CBS2 Meteorologist

A chilly breeze will continue to blow this afternoon. And despite plenty of sunshine, temps will struggle to get into the low 40's. As for the first pitch of the Yankees game, expect beautiful blue skies with wind chills in the mid to upper 20's -- at least it won't be raining!

High pressure will settle in tonight and calm things down. But with mainly clear skies and light winds in place, temps will fall off a bit. That said, the National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning for the city, northeast NJ, Long Island and coastal Connecticut. Expect lows in the upper to mid 20's by daybreak.

Extra clouds will filter in tomorrow, but we're still looking at a partly cloudy to partly sunny day. And our winds will be out of the south as opposed to the north, so we'll be a tad warmer... upper 40's in reach.

Showers and rain will fill in on Thursday ahead of our next front. So, much of the area will be getting wet, but the good news is, temps will be warmer in the upper 50's to around 60°.

As for Friday, we'll see our rain chances fall off as our system pushes out, but there could be a little wintry precipitation N&W, especially in the morning. And for the first pitch of the Mets' home opener, expect temps approaching 50° with just a slight chance of showers.
