2/23 CBS2 Tuesday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Justin Lewis

Rain and snow will overspread the area this afternoon, with the focus of the snow to the north of the city. The afternoon rush certainly looks worse than this morning with slushy, slippery roads in the Hudson Valley -- so it may be a little challenging for the trip home.

Into tonight, especially late, we'll see rain taper in the city with snow and ice changing to plain rain the Hudson Valley. There could be a little rain or drizzle for the morning rush, but it's generally quieter.

Showers and periods of rain will swing through tomorrow, with heavier pockets of rain late in the day and into the evening -- you may even hear some rumbles out there. The concern during this period is for flooding on roadways and in poor drainage areas, so be on the lookout.

Conditions will improve on Thursday with perhaps a leftover shower here and there. And then we gear up for a blustery, colder finish to the work week!
