160 Dogs Rescued From Midwest Puppy Mills Arrive In New York

ARMONK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- More than 100 dogs have arrived safely in Westchester after being rescued from Midwest puppy mills.

The 160 dogs, from adults used in breeding to neglected puppies, arrived in Armonk on Tuesday.

The breeds range from Yorkshire terriers to Boxers. Other breeds included papillons, poodles, Tibentan terriers, French bulldogs and Maltese.

The dogs are now in the care of various rescue groups in New York and New Jersey to receive much-needed medical care and grooming.

The dogs eventually will be available for adoption through local shelters and rescue groups.
