12/12 CBS2 Monday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Matt DeLucia
CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

After a messy start, the rain has pushed off the coast and we'll be left with just cloudy breaks for the rest of today. Temps will reach the 40s and even 50 for some, the warmest day this week!

Tonight will feature mostly clear skies with seasonable lows in the 30s. The NW suburbs will dip into the 20s, so there could be some lingering slick spots as any untreated roads see some refreezing. Tuesday is a much brighter day with a mix of sun and clouds and highs near normal in the low 40s.

For the week ahead, temps start dropping off through midweek. By Thursday and Friday, we won't make it out of the 20s for highs! And with a bitter wind, it'll feel sub-zero for many out the door by Friday morning! Can't rule out a snow shower or two as the arctic air moves on in.
