10 Candidates Take Part In Mayoral Forum

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Personal attacks, name calling and even an arrest highlighted Tuesday's mayoral forum at Hunter College.

As WCBS 880's Ginny Kosola reported, all the major candidates with the exception of Christine Quinn were on hand for what turned into an unusual meeting.

Before the forum even began, Green Party candidate Tony Gronowicz went onto the stage and demanded to be included.

"I'm on the ballot, don't take the microphone. Don't get violent with me," he said as he tried to take part in the forum.

He was taken away and arrested, Kosola reported.

Republican mayoral hopeful George McDonald twice tore into Democrat Anthony Weiner over the recent revelations of another sexting scandal.

"You don't want to allow me to talk, that's just more time for this glib narcissist," McDonald said.

"I would contrast my values with Anthony Weiner's values any day of the week," the Republican added.

Weiner did not respond to the attacks, Kosola reported.

Mayoral candidates Anthony Weiner, Sal Albanese, Adolfo Carrion, John Catsimatidis, Bill de Blasio, Joe Lhota, John Liu, George McDonald, Erick Salgado and Bill Thompson took part in the AARP, NAACP and Hispanic Federation's mayoral forum.

After the forum, Liu again said he'd appeal the Campaign Finance Board's decision to deny him matching funds.
