As of Thursday night, airlines have canceled more than 2,400 flights scheduled for Friday. Newark Liberty International Airport, John F. Kennedy Airport and LaGuardia Airport have more than a 1,000 cancellations.
The memories of Sandy were in the minds of drivers, who were not willing to take any chances with Friday's impending monster snowstorm on the way.
"They emptied out the basement, gutted the house, and brought me this picture, and said 'your mother was a beautiful woman.' I said, 'yes she was, but this isn't my mother'," Monica Bonkowski told CBS 2's Emily Smith on Thursday.
