Watch: David Beckham shocks fans in London photo booth

(CBS News) Although David Beckham failed to make the 2012 Olympic soccer squad for Great Britain, the international soccer superstar is still showing his team spirit.

In a commercial for his shoe sponsor Adidas, Beckham gives fans quite a surprise when he suddenly pops up after fans enter a photo booth to take pictures with them.

In the 90-second video, fans are told to step into an enclosed area to snap pictures showing their support for Team Great Britain, for which England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland compete. Once inside, a smiling Beckham appears from around a corner to join in the pictures with shocked fans.

The reactions are priceless; one little boy is even driven to tears.

Besides boosting some fans' morale before the Olympics, the Associated Press is reporting Beckham will have a role in the opening ceremony at the Olympics.

''It is some kind of role in the opening ceremony, which I am honored to be involved in because obviously I was involved in the start process with this seven years ago,'' Beckham told The Associated Press. ''And for Seb (Sebastian Coe) to have kept me involved, I'm very proud of that.''

But in keeping with the national ''save the surprise'' campaign, Beckham wouldn't divulge any further details about his role.
