Comey’s call

Law enforcement officials said FBI investigators obtained a search warrant and are preparing to review thousands of emails found on a laptop used by Hillary Clinton’s longtime aide Huma Abedin and her estranged husband, Anthony Weiner. FBI Director James Comey is facing intense scrutiny for what some say was violating protocol and for  telling Congress about the investigation days before the election. Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid said Comey may have broken the law.

Complete 180

It’s a familiar story this campaign season: One major political party is praising Comey for his integrity and handling of a sensitive investigation, while the other blasts him as biased and irresponsible. But over the last 72 hours, who’s praising and who’s criticizing have totally flipped.

Deeper scandal

The sexual assault scandal rocking Baylor University and its powerhouse football team was far worse than previously disclosed. “60 Minutes Sports” has learned since 2011, 17 female students reported sexual or domestic assault charges against 19 Baylor football players. That includes at least four alleged gang rapes. Armen Keteyian spoke to top administrators and university regents.

Fighting back

Sick of getting thumped by online retailers during the critical holiday shopping season, some of the nation’s biggest discount stores are pulling out all the stops to attract shoppers this year. We look at what major brick-and-mortar retailers are doing to ornament their shopping experiences, from theatrical product demos to in-store beauty bars.

Sound approach

Changing landscape

Trump is proposing to cut all kinds of federal taxes by $6 trillion over 10 years. Clinton is proposing policy changes that would raise taxes by about $1.4 trillion over 10 years. With most polls favoring Clinton, a lot of people (and their financial advisers) may be assuming she’ll prevail and wondering how to adjust their tax strategies. Here are a few moves you might consider.

Healthy competition

Need a little extra motivation to stick to your fitness routine? Harnessing the power of social media can help -- but only if you do it right. New research suggests online support isn’t enough to get people to exercise. Here’s what works.

Online afterlife

What happens to a person’s email, online photos and other digital assets when he or she dies? It’s not as straightforward as you might think, even for those who have set up a will or designated power-of-attorney. Now, a law being adopted in many U.S. states could change that. Here’s what people should know about what’s involved in family members or an estate executor gaining access to their online accounts once they’re gone.
