Intel overhaul?
President-elect Donald Trump is considering an overhaul of the office of the Director of National Intelligence -- and he could leave the director post vacant as part of the restructuring, sources tell CBS News. Mr. Trump has been critical of the intelligence agencies after they said in early December that Russia interfered in the U.S. election.
Treading carefully
Mike Pence is defending President-elect Donald Trump’s tweets casting doubt on the U.S. intelligence community’s assessment that Russia was behind the hacking of the DNC and the Clinton campaign, but Pence has not endorsed Mr. Trump’s skeptical view of the nation’s intelligence services. Previous comments suggest Pence may not be in total agreement with his boss.
No mere peanuts
New guidelines turning conventional wisdom on its head may help prevent dangerous peanut allergies in future generations. The guidelines say peanuts should be introduced early into the diets of infants -- even those deemed at risk -- in order to reduce the chances they’ll develop an allergy.
Horror live-streamed
Chicago, which just had one of its most violent years ever, was the scene of another horrifying attack this week. Four suspects are in custody after a disturbing live-streamed video surfaced of a duct-taped man allegedly being tortured.
Samsung Galaxy Note 7
Today is the last day many owners of the Galaxy Note 7 smartphone will be able to use their devices. Verizon and AT&T will roll out a software update to prevent the recalled phone from recharging or connecting to cellular networks. But some users are trying to find a way around the update.

The CEO and inventor of MyPillow is defending his advertising methods after the Better Business Bureau dropped the pillow maker’s company rating from an A+ to an F and revoked its accreditation.
