Stage curtain collapses on Carly Fiorina during Texas speech

SAN ANTONIO - A stage curtain fell on Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina as she spoke at an event in San Antonio, Texas on Sunday.

A video posted to Twitter captured the incident and in it, many people can be heard gasping as the curtain falls abruptly.

Texas Tribune reporter Patrick Svitek tweeted that after the curtain fell, someone yelled out, "Trump!," to which Fiorina replied, "Trump, Hillary -- it could've been lots of people."

Svitek said on Twitter that Fiorina returned to taking questions shortly after the incident.

In a statement to CBS News, Anna Epstein, Fiorina's press secretary, said, "We were in San Antonio at the NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners) conference, the drapes and poles in the hotel ballroom began to fall, and Carly wasn't injured."

A national poll released Sunday by the Wall Street Journal and NBC News indicates that Fiorina, the former CEO of Hewlett Packard, is showing strength. She netted 11 percent support, putting her tied for 3rd among GOP candidates. Twenty percent of Republican primary voters said they wanted neurosurgeon Ben Carson to be president. Twenty-one percent picked businessman and reality TV star Donald Trump.
