Jared Leto jokes about Jennifer Lawrence's Oscars fall

Could Jennifer Lawrence really have tripped at the Oscars two years in a row?

The actress has now stumbled at the glitzy gala both this year -- falling on the red carpet apparently after an unwelcome meeting with a traffic cone -- and the year before as she went to the stage to accept her best actress award (while thinking about cake).

If there are Lawrence conspiracy theorists out there, Jared Leto is among them -- at least, in jest.

"You know, I'm starting to wonder if this is a bit of an act," Leto joked during an interview with "Access Hollywood."

The "Dallas Buyers Club" star and newly-minted best supporting actor winner also cleared up why Lawrence called out to him when she took the stage to present during the Academy Awards telecast. (The "American Hustle" star had said, "Why are you laughing? What, is this funny? I'm still watching you!")

"She said, 'What are you laughing at?' But what she didn't know was that Ellen [DeGeneres] was on the side...making, pantomiming [motions like], 'Don't fall, don't fall,' and my mom and my brother are all cracking up," he explained.

"I guess we don't have any manners," Leto added. "You can take them out of Louisiana but you can't take Louisiana out of them, right?"
