Why the Minnesota DNR is canceling a Twin Metals mineral lease
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is canceling a state mineral lease for a company hoping to mine near the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. The lease, held by Franconia LLC., a wholly owned subsidiary of Twin Metals, is on Birch Lake, just south of the Boundary Waters.
